First Boat

I bought my first boat on the weekend, its not exactly built for speed or more than 3 people at a time but the "Bas Janita" was surely built for good times with classic style in mind. Fresh air and hidden habour beaches in the palm of her hand, the possibilities are endless...............

16 Days - Japan

It already feels like I dreamed going to Japan, like a big blur of things put together from having multi vitamins before going to sleep. All the best stories from beautiful fishing towns, overwhelming cities, smoking volcanoes, endless train rides and the most generous , honest people in the world.

An unedited timeline of a recent road trip Ela & I did to Noosa with a classic song some pple will know.
We hired a car for 5 days and on the way up the coast stopped & stayed in Kalang where Ela grew up in a house built from fallen tree's and rocks from the creek . The water in the creek is so clean you can swim and drink at the same time. I showed Ela around Noosa and then it was time to get back in the car again. They were some of the most enjoyable days I'v had.

Hungry for NYE

We did another road trip over new years, camped at hungry head and had the best time.
The first day of this trip was one of the best days of my life. It was pretty normal to start with, stopped at the big prawn, stopped at the rest spot where the truckies chickens live in the trees, a humorous pit stop on the exit road at the service station, countless conversations and finger pointing demonstrations explaining why the picture of miranda kerr (pictured below) was the best picture all of us had ever seen. Plus all that regular driving all day dribble.When we got there and set up our big tarp to hold our spot we grabbed boards and started walking across these massive sand dunes like the ones in africa in endless summer only to find there was no waves, then a storm front came over us and started a big sand storm . After that Stein and morgs were over it and headed back and pickle and i decided to go anyway even just for a swim. Morgs ended up turning around and joining us in the corner of the headland,surf looked shit. Then it stopped raining the waves got bigger and started breaking really long and nice, there wasnt a soul in sight, we were so pumped on it. It kept getting better and better over about an hour and a half , at one point before the sun set there was this strange white light,instead of the normal golden yellow and it made everything green glow really bright, there was also a double rainbow with lightening all around it, dolphins, stingwrays , fish all swimming around while we got waves so long our legs were getting tired. It finally got too dark to surf anymore, and we walked back to our camp along a 4wd track through the bush and told steino all about it. He had been trying to set up his tent in the wind the whole time and had no idea what was going on over the other side of the sand dunes, we felt a little bit bad rubbing it in so much but couldnt stop .
After reading this story you probably think we were off our tits but there was nothing like that.

That was just the first day, the rest were really good too, even the last day when i had to get dropped off (last picture, morgs sticking his head out laughing at me) in this hole called Kempsey for hours to wait for a 7 hour train ride, i have a whole other big story the shit that happened in Kempsey but il save it for another time. Stein, morgs and pickle went back to Byron and got drunk and morgs did some really funny stuff in a maggsy waggon.

Ela and i spent a few days down the coast in a really nice beach house for a few days. Its pretty special down there, awesome to relax with good weather and waves.

I did a little temporary swap of my water housing for a projector with a friend. Its cool to see all these old forgotten about slides so big on a lounge room wall.

A few drinks at mine

A few cajch drinks at my house became not so cajch after the second big block got ripped open, yellowy the seedy beer bong from south west rocks mitre 10 and some mad unnecessary rush to the beeeeeach ruuude came about.There arnt really any pictures of these goodtimes at my house but i was sure to shoot a few off the next day after hearing the full story of the return of Gannon the Cannons alcohol induced split personality ''dangerous dave''. Theres only one bad thing about hearing these stories of dangerous and its that 90% of the story is missing.

Il do a lil story line
- Got kicked out of the pub
- Beat up pretty bad
- Burst in the house kicking shit around swearing in a mad rage
- Bursts into tears really loud
- Stops weeping and throws his bike around the house
- Leaves on his bike to find his glasses n phone he lost earlier
- In the process of finding his missing items loses his bike
- Passes out unknown location for about 4 hrs
- Next night goes to put on his shoes and cant find them but finds his pair of socks covered in well worn in bark and dirt, realises he also lost his shoes.

New Zealand

There were bargain flights to nz so tommy and i booked a flight keen to go snow boarding. I had no idea how beautiful NZ was, everywhere you looked it was awesome. Plus we got the best two weeks of snow they have had in something like 5 years. Here's a few shots from the trip that dont do it justice.

The 22km summit seesh

My good friend Steinagemaxage and i heard it was good to climb Mt Kosciusko so we drove down there expecting a mammoth climb but it turned out it was similar to walking up a long driveway and found we had drivin up most of the 2228 meters. Id put on morgs Dunlop KT26's and everything so we couldnt go back to the car feeling like two big pussies. We ended up going down a track that lead the whole way around the main ridge and it was the first time us caintoads had touched snow,we were bearded. It was one of the most enjoyable things iv done.
After we got back to the car we about as fingered as those two blonde lesbians on the Pirates of the Caribbean porno.

He has more nicknames than anyone and has one of the most extreme personalities around. As im writing this he's texting me losing his mind over a girl who hes working pumping around with a mad set of free-riders. (def; FREE-RIDERS ; girl not wearing a bra; first said by morgs quote "check out those big blue free-riders")  Il try keep up to date with the cannon on this blog.

We were camping somewhere near a place on the central coast called tockley.I went for a drive to buy food and was driving back to our camp when i spotted a guy on the side of the road who looked like a castaway style mixture of iggy pop and
ozzy osbourne. He was putting all kinds of jive turkey into a air guitar solo he told me was from his favourite alice cooper album. I pulled over and offered him a beer, he said ''no thanks mate....... only bongs!''. He said it was ok for me to take his picture.After that he croaked out a few more little stories about smokings bongs, Alice cooper and how everyone in the whole town knows him, then got straight back into it.
